Ex-Radio Newsman Pleads Not Guilty in 2-Year-Old’s Murder
A former radio newsman pleaded not guilty Monday to a charge of murdering a 2-year-old Fresno boy.
Police said Steven Diddy, 26, confessed earlier this month to killing Matthew Moorby. Matthew had been missing for two days in February before his body was found in a Woodward Park lake.
But since the confession, Diddy has said he did not kill the boy.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday to determine whether there is enough evidence for a trial. Municipal Judge C.E. Williams continued until Nov. 6 a decision on whether Diddy is mentally competent to stand trial.
