Winding Road Points East Again

Share

Welcome to the travel hell of the Western Conference.

At least that’s the way King forwards Kevin Stevens and Ray Ferraro are starting to feel about their recent itinerary. Both players are accustomed to Eastern Conference travel. Ferraro played in the East (Hartford, the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers), and Stevens played in Pittsburgh and Boston.

“Whoever made the schedule--going east three times in one month--it’s asinine,” Stevens said.

Said Ferraro: “This is unbelievable.”

The Kings will try to build off the momentum of a strong third period and overtime in the 0-0 tie against Calgary last Saturday.

“We took a baby step,” Ferraro said of Saturday’s game. “We didn’t give up a whole lot of scoring chances. In the past, we’d get one and give one up.”
