University to Host Scandinavian Exhibit

Cal Lutheran University will host an exhibit of artworks by Californians of Swedish heritage beginning Saturday through Nov. 17 in celebration of the school’s Scandinavian roots.

The free exhibit, in Cal Lutheran’s Pearson Library Gallery, 60 W. Olsen Road in Thousand Oaks, will feature painting, sculpture and weaving by artists including Anders Aldrin, Stig Einarson, Ake Grunditz and Inger Hodgson.

The Swedish consulate general in Los Angeles, the nonprofit foundation Swedish Art in Malibu, the Scandinavian American Cultural and Historical Foundation, and the Vestkusten group are sponsors of the exhibit.

Swedish Consul General Barbro S. Osher will host the exhibit’s opening reception Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. in the gallery.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
