Gunman Shoots Three at Convenience Store in Orange

Three men were wounded Friday in an early morning shooting at a convenience store parking lot, and investigators were looking at the attack as a possible gang-related crime, police said.

An unidentified gunman opened fire on the three men and their friends about 12:20 a.m. at the 7-Eleven store at 4427 E. Chapman Ave. and then fled on foot, according to Orange police.

Javier Perez, 22, was hit in the head and was listed in stable condition Friday afternoon at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Alex Martinez, 23, suffered a shoulder injury and Victor Ramirez, 19, was shot in the stomach. Both were listed in fair condition Friday afternoon.

The victims were with a group of friends who stopped at the store shortly after midnight, police said. Some of the group went inside the store, while others milled around outside or sat in cars.
