St. Paul 20, Crespi 14--Steve Franklin’s 43-yard touchdown on a fumble recovery was the high point for the Celts (3-6, 0-4) in a loss at St. Paul (6-3, 2-2). Franklin caused the fumble when he broke through the line to hit quarterback Chris Willis, and the touchdown with 7:28 left in the second quarter gave Crespi a 7-3 lead.

Saul Frausto’s two touchdown runs of one and four yards put St. Paul ahead for good. Frausto carried 30 times for 160 yards.

Anthony Trejo led the Celts with 76 yards in 13 carries, while quarterback Nick Rita completed six of 12 pass attempts for 68 yards, including two interceptions and a 50-yard touchdown to Dennis Fox.

The Celts finished with 149 yards. St. Paul had 298 yards rushing and 36 passing.
