Nordhoff 38, Santa Clara 0--Kevin Zielsdorf paced the Nordhoff ground attack, rushing for 91 yards and two touchdowns in 15 carries as the Rangers (8-0-1, 3-0) routed the Saints (0-9, 0-3).
Nordhoff quarterback Jim Musick led the Rangers on four consecutive scoring drives in the first half. Each score came after a Santa Clara turnover. The Saints had five in the game.
Defensive back Tim Denne finished the scoring for Nordhoff by returning an interception 75 yards for a touchdown with 3:30 to play.
Santa Clara was limited to 106 yards. The Saints’ best chance at scoring was a 39-yard field-goal attempt by Marco Gonzalez with two minutes to play.
