‘Day of Dialogue’ on Diversity Planned
Diversity and race relations will be the topics of discussion Wednesday at Cal State Northridge’s “A Day of Dialogue.”
Two sessions are scheduled, one at 8:30 a.m. and the other at 12:30 p.m. Both will be in the Grand Salon of the University Student Union.
Through dialogue, “we gain insight into and an appreciation of other cultures, backgrounds, orientations and abilities through the life experience of others,” said Wendy Yost, coordinator of Project Community, which is hosting the event.
ora(hanson) “Wednesday’s discussion is even more pertinent, given the recent tensions that have arisen during the debate over Proposition 209,” the anti-affirmative-action initiative that voters approved Tuesday.
The Los Angeles city attorney’s office created the Days of Dialogue program in the wake of the O.J. Simpson murder trial verdict. Several programs have been held around Los Angeles. The CSUN event will be the third in the Valley.
