Robinson Changes Tune on Layoff

Coach Larry Robinson may have been critical of the NHL schedule makers for giving the team five days off after losing to the Mighty Ducks on Friday, but he’s glad to have the extra rest to get some players healthy.

With the Kings not scheduled to play again until Thursday, when they meet Toronto at the Forum, the time off should help the shoulder injuries of center Ian Laperriere and defenseman Doug Zmolek, along with Mattias Norstrom’s injured wrist.

“We’re banged up,” Robinson said after the Kings’ six-game unbeaten streak was snapped by the Ducks. “We have a lot of bumps and bruises.”
