Navy Plans Meetings on Its El Toro Report

Share

The Navy will review an environmental report on the closure of the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station at two public meetings this week.

Law requires the Navy to prepare an environmental impact statement evaluating potential effects of waste disposal and reuses of the base, which is scheduled for closure in 1999.

The report addresses transportation, noise, air quality, hazardous-waste disposal, land-use issues and natural resources.
