Man Beaten, Stabbed by 5 in Colonia Park
A 39-year-old Oxnard man was recovering Wednesday after being stabbed while walking through the city’s downtown Colonia Park.
Juan Gallegos was walking in the park Tuesday about 2:30 p.m. when he was jumped by five men.
The assailants punched Gallegos, knocked him to the ground and then stabbed him in the back with an unknown object while he lay face down in a sandbox, said Oxnard Police Officer Tom Chronister.
Gallegos suffered minor wounds.
Police did not say what prompted the attack.
Gallegos was treated and released at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Chronister said.
