LANCASTER — A pipe bomb found near a stretch of the Los Angeles Aqueduct in Lancaster was exploded Wednesday without causing injuries or damage, authorities said.
The bomb was reported at about 8:30 a.m. on Tierra Subida Road at the aqueduct, authorities said.
“Nobody knows where it came from,” said Sgt. Richard Dinsmoor of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s Department bomb experts were trying to disarm it with a remote control device when the bomb went off, Dinsmoor said.
Deputies are trying to determine the bomb’s origin, he said.
