Banks Seeks Food and Toy Donations
Donations of toys and nonperishable food items for several local charities will be collected at all 12 TransWorld Bank locations in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas beginning today.
“We’ve been doing this for several years now,” said TransWorld Vice President Elizabeth Nielsen. “Our different branches align with different organizations in their areas that have a need and try to help them out in some way.”
Agencies benefiting from this year’s collection include the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program, the Salvation Army, the Food Pantry and the Los Angeles and San Fernando police departments’ food basket programs.
A collection box will be set out at each bank location to accept the food and new, unwrapped toys and games for children 16 and younger, Nielsen said. The collection period will end Dec. 18. For more information, call TransWorld at (818) 783-7501.
