Workshop Today on District Restructuring
As Capistrano Unified School District prepares to redraw its boundaries for the next school year, parents and community members will join officials at an all-day workshop today to make recommendations.
The meeting will include discussions on elementary and middle-school boundary lines, student growth areas and new school openings. Parents, teachers and area residents, as well as Capistrano Unified clerical employees and management staff, will participate in the round-table restructuring talks.
The workshop starts at 9 a.m. at the district office and will be divided into six sessions, with each group focusing on a specific geographic area or grade level.
The topics and times are scheduled as follows: 9 a.m., Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo, Las Flores and Coto de Caza area; 10 a.m., Aliso Viejo and Laguna Niguel region; 11 a.m., Laguna Niguel, Dana Point and San Juan Capistrano area; 1 p.m., the San Clemente region; 1:45 p.m., district middle schools; and 2:30 p.m., general discussions and final comments.
