6 Arrests Stem From Earlier Gang Shooting

Armed with search warrants, 38 members of a law enforcement task force on Wednesday arrested six gang members during several residential searches.

Five minors and 24-year-old Adam Solis were taken into custody after police confiscated guns, drugs and gang paraphernalia.

The search warrants stemmed from a Nov. 9 shooting between rival Thousand Oaks gangs, according to sheriff’s officials. No one was injured in the shooting on Calle Diamante in Newbury Park, but detectives were able to identify the suspects.

Gang infighting heated up after the condominium of one of the gang members involved in the earlier shooting was burglarized Nov. 15, officials said.

Sheriff’s deputies assigned to patrol Thousand Oaks were assisted in the Wednesday searches by deputies from Moorpark, the Sheriff’s Crime Suppression Unit and Ventura County probation officers.

Three of the suspects were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and two on suspicion of burglary. Solis, who was arrested for allegedly being under the influence of drugs, was being held at the East Valley Jail on $5,000 bail.

Police held the juvenile suspects at Juvenile Hall in Thousand Oaks.
