Robinson Has Praise for Panthers

Share

The Florida Panthers’ victory over the Kings Wednesday night gave them a 12-3-5 record, and King Coach Larry Robinson had this to say about their success: “Their guys have been together and playing in the same system for a while now where they don’t even think about it. We can get there if we apply ourselves and move the puck around a little quicker. They play as a unit but as well as they played, they still had some breakdowns. We just didn’t make the plays to take advantage.”

The Kings’ penalty-killing unit’s streak of 12 consecutive kills came to an end when Florida’s Scott Mellanby scored a power-play goal 3:33 into the second period. The Kings, the league’s top penalty-killing team, were one for four against the Panthers and are 83 for 90 this season.
