Kurri Moves Up on Point List

With a savvy play that led to an assist on the Ducks’ first goal Wednesday, Jari Kurri moved into a tie with Guy Lafleur for 12th on the NHL career scoring list with 1,353 points. Next on the list: John Bucyk with 1,369.

The Ducks have reintroduced a team bonus system, which is common in the NHL, after going two seasons without one.

“Haven’t seen it since the inaugural year,” assistant captain Bobby Dollas said. “We did too well. It must have gotten expensive.”

Players earn varying bonuses of up to $250 per player per game for such things as a shutout. Dollas said each player earned about $8,000 during the 1993-94 season.

Right wing Roman Oksiuta, whose plus-minus has dropped to a team-worst minus 10, wasn’t in the lineup. . . . The Maple Leafs are reportedly interested in defenseman David Karpa, and Duck scouts were at a recent Toronto game.
