Officers from the Oxnard and Port Hueneme police departments served 105 arrest warrants and took 20 people into custody Saturday.

The sweep involved 27 officers serving warrants for a variety of charges, from failure to appear for traffic violations to brandishing a handgun, according to Oxnard Police Cmdr. Charles Hookstra.

Among those arrested was a 14-year-old from Oxnard, who was booked into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of trespassing, authorities said. The other 19 suspects were adults, and were all booked into Ventura County Jail, Hookstra said.

As the sweep was concluding, officers were contacted by 36-year-old Felipe Dominguez of Oxnard, who told them a motorist had pointed a gun at him as Dominguez was riding his bike on D Street, Hookstra said.

Dominguez gave police a description of the vehicle and the driver, and a suspect was arrested a short time later at 5th Street and Valentine Road. Authorities identified the suspect as 21-year-old Alberto Meras of Oxnard.

Hookstra said officers found a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun in Meras’ car. Meras was held in lieu of $1,000 bail in County Jail on suspicion of possessing a concealed firearm and brandishing a firearm, said a jail spokeswoman.
