City Allocates $60,000 in Grants
City officials have allocated nearly $60,000 in community grants to seven local groups.
The City Council has approved $500 for La Habra Arts Assn., $3,500 each for Sonora and La Habra high schools, $30,000 for the local Boys & Girls Club, $3,000 for Friends of the Library, $5,633 for La Habra Depot Theater and $13,500 for the Chamber of Commerce.
Each school and organization already has plans for the funds, ranging from staging graduation night festivities and art shows to buying library books, officials said.
