Clerk Shot to Death Inside Market

A 34-year-old clerk was shot to death Wednesday at a Watts market, police said.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was behind the counter at Valentina’s Market in the 10000 block of South Central Avenue when he was shot about 4 p.m., said Lt. Hanns Ruth of the Los Angeles Police Department.
“His mother was in the store at the time but she was in the back,” Ruth said. “She came out and found her son.”
Ruth said the motive for the shooting was not immediately known.
