Library Seeks Gifts for Operation Santa Claus
The Fountain Valley Library is asking residents to participate in Operation Santa Claus, a gift drive for needy senior citizens and abused children.
Angel-shaped tags decorating a Christmas tree contain gift suggestions for the poor who will benefit from the program. Residents are encouraged to take a tag, buy a gift and return it with a donation to the library branch.
Last year, volunteers purchased more than 200 gifts and donated $800, organizers said.
The library is at 17635 Los Alamos St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The branch is closed on Sundays.
