Stan Humphries said Wednesday he is a little scared about his future after suffering his second concussion in 11 months.

The San Diego Charger quarterback was hurt in Sunday night’s 45-7 loss to New England and spent the night in a hospital.

“For guys like [former Ram quarterback] Chris Miller and [49er quarterback] Steve Young to have five or six of them, or two or three right in a row, I think that can be really scary, especially when you have a family outside waiting on you when you come out,” Humphries said. “You enjoy playing, you love the game, it’s just a matter of how long do you plan on still being able to get up off the ground.”

Humphries had a CAT scan Wednesday and has an appointment today with Ron Kobiyashi, a neurologist.

Humphries will not practice until the medical exams are finished, and he will not play in Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh.

Seattle Seahawk wide receiver Brian Blades will sit out the final three games because of a separated left shoulder and two cracked ribs. He played in last Sunday’s loss in Denver.

“Brian agrees with the decision,” Coach Dennis Erickson said. “I just felt it was best for him. He was in such pain Sunday after that game.”

The NFL says it has no evidence that Stark bet, but is looking into whether he associated with gamblers.

Stark has been put on administrative leave with pay after meeting with Commissioner Paul Tagliabue on Nov. 25.

Araguz, 26, has had stints in the World League and NFL but has not played in a regular-season NFL game.
