New Seattle Stadium Recommended
A task force exploring the fate of the Kingdome in Seattle recommended that the concrete-roofed stadium be torn down and replaced with an open-air, natural grass football stadium--the option favored by prospective Seahawk buyer Paul Allen.
The advisory vote by the Seahawks-Kingdome Renovation Task Force will be forwarded to the Metropolitan King County Council for approval. Such a stadium is expected to cost between $370 million and $402 million.

Robert Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, was released from the hospital after being treated for a heart problem stemming from a stroke last year.
Irsay, 73, suffered the stroke on Nov. 29, 1995, and has been in and out of the hospital since. He was being treated at the Indiana University Medical Center for a heart-rhythm disorder.
