County Ruling on Asphalt Plant Reeks

Share

What’s that smell? It’s more than just fumes spewing from the recently approved Transit Mix Asphalt plant, much more than the diesel exhaust blowing from the hundreds of additional trucks allowed.

The origin of this odor rises from our very own Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Reeking is their ruling in favor of a giant corporation’s appeal for increased production at the expense of protection needed to safeguard Ventura County residents. Placing short-term monetary considerations over far-reaching environmental consequences has created a stench that cannot be masked.
