Deputies Target Intersection at Mall

Here is a traffic tip: Obey the laws on the streets near The Oaks shopping center this week in Thousand Oaks, or you could get a ticket from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

The Thousand Oaks traffic bureau has designated the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Lynn Road as its “Traffic Tip of the Week,” and deputies are on the lookout for drivers who disobey signal lights and commit other vehicle infractions.

The intersection is at the northeast end of the mall, and Sgt. Ken Bailey said drivers traveling at unsafe and excessive speeds have caused a high number of accidents in the intersection.

By cracking down on violators, deputies hope to prevent accidents, Bailey said.
