Defenseman Phillipe Boucher has two goals and an assist in his last four games, and captain Rob Blake has two assists and a goal in his last three. The Kings beat the Islanders, 1-0, in the first game of the season at the Forum. Goalie Stephane Fiset had 26 saves.

Islander update--Until Saturday’s loss at Tampa Bay, the Islanders were one of the hottest teams in the league in winning six of 10 games. They are 7-6-2 at home this season. Zigmund Palffy leads in scoring with 37 points and 20 goals. Rookie Bryan Berard, with four goals and 21 points, ranks among the top scoring defensemen. Goalies Tommy Salo and rookie Eric Fichaud are yielding only 2.59 goals a game.
