The same team of trustees who ran the board of the Rancho Santiago Community College District last year must have figured they had some work left to do. They’ll be serving another year in office.

The board has chosen Enriqueta L. Ramos, Lawrence R. Labrado and Brian E. Conley to continue in their roles as president, vice president and clerk, respectively.

Joining them on the board are newly elected members Lisa Woolery and Phillip E. Yarbrough.

To help Ramos and the others start their second year, Pacific Bell has presented the district with a check for $5,500. Ramos said the money will be used for a new program to motivate students, especially Latinas, to be outspoken and to become leaders.

“This is very important,” Ramos said.

At its annual self-evaluation meeting, to be held Jan. 21, the board will discuss seven topics, including its relationship with unions and senates, its meeting protocol and its role in personnel, litigation and administrative issues.
