Fast Times for Peter White

Share

Striking, silver-haired actor Peter White has joined Ben Kingsley and Gabriel Bryne in Larry Gelbart’s HBO satire “Weapons of Mass Destruction.”

White’s latest film is the highly anticipated Albert Brooks opus “Mother,” with Debbie Reynolds. White plays Debbie’s conservative but sexually imaginative beau. (The buzz on Debbie’s performance is building. After years of personal and professional heartbreak, the unsinkable star might well be on her way to an Oscar and a new career as a character actress. She sure deserves a break.) Actor White has had quite a busy year: He appeared with Ellen DeGeneres in “Mr. Wrong,” on the final season of “Sisters” and as a lawyer on “ER.”

And millions of soap fans adored him during his eight-year run as Lincoln Tyler on “All My Children.”

President Clinton and family have requested a print of October Films’ prizewinning “Breaking the Waves.” Young Chelsea is also a big fan of the movie’s soundtrack, which offers ‘70s-era classics by Mott the Hoople, Jethro Tull, Procol Harum, Elton John and others too polyestered to mention.
