SMALL FACES: In a near-reunion of Jane’s Addiction, Perry Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro and drummer Stephen Perkins are working together on a new song that will likely appear on a still-to-be-determined film soundtrack. Joining them are bassist Flea (with whom Navarro plays in the Red Hot Chili Peppers) and guitarist Peter DiStefano (who’s in Porno for Pyros with Farrell and Perkins). . . .

Hole’s rare single “Dicknail” and new, unreleased or remixed songs by Radiohead, Elastica, the Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, James and Marilyn Manson are featured in the soundtrack for “Nowhere,” filmmaker Gregg Araki’s follow-up to his dark “The Doom Generation.” . . .

The big guns are out, production-wise, for Mary J. Blige’s third album, now in progress. Babyface, the Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis team and Mtume are among those working on tracks, with guest performers including rapper Nas and jazz-pop guitarist George Benson. . . .

Big Head Todd & the Monsters’ upcoming “Beautiful World” (due Feb. 11) features a jam with John Lee Hooker on the blues great’s “Boom Boom”--the result of Hooker working in a studio adjacent to Todd and crew and hearing them playing the song just for fun.
