College Gets Tree to Mark Anniversary

A newly planted tree on the campus is helping Cypress College celebrate its 30th anniversary.

College officials earlier this month had a ceremony to plant the tree and mark the occasion.

The Monterey cypress was a gift from Fullerton College, which is a sister institution within the North Orange County Community College District.

“The tree was an appropriate selection to celebrate Cypress’ 30th anniversary, because it represents growth and beauty,” said Cynthia Coad, president of the district’s board of trustees.

The tree was planted next to the Cypress College Theater Building.

Fullerton College President Vera Martinez presided over the tree-planting, accompanied by the academic leadership team from her college.
