2 Brothers Held in Cocaine Case

Acting on information gathered during a drug raid a week ago, police have arrested two brothers on suspicion of selling rock cocaine.

On Thursday, police arrested Oxnard resident Alfred Earl Hamilton, 37, at Camarillo State Hospital, where he worked. Police accuse him of selling rock cocaine, or crack, and possessing the drug for sale.

His brother, 35-year-old Anthony Gifford Hamilton, also an Oxnard resident, was arrested on Christmas Day at a residence in the 900 block of Teakwood Street on suspicion of selling rock cocaine and possessing it for sale.

Both suspects were booked by Oxnard police and transferred to the Ventura County Jail. Bail for each man is set at $20,000.

Authorities said the arrests stemmed from a Dec. 19 raid of two residences near the corner of Teakwood and L streets in Oxnard by officers from the Oxnard and Port Hueneme police departments and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

A significant amount of rock cocaine, packaging materials and money were found during last week’s raid, authorities said, resulting in the arrests of four other people.
