To End Sports Blues, Let’s Look at the Maize
Jim Murray’s fabulous column on Loy Vaught [Dec. 20] was refreshing. Chris Baker’s “fabulous” description of Chris Webber and Juwan Howard, who not only returned to school to graduate but who also had the audacity to take the blame when he made a mistake off the court, was also interesting. Then I remembered how well Elvis Grbac handled the situation when he was attacked by Willie Brown.
What common heritage do these gentlemen share that sets the standards that Rodman, Barkley et al. seem to be lacking? They are Michigan Wolverines.
