Police Making Traffic Stop Find Man With Gunshot Wound to Neck
Police officers who pulled over a car Saturday evening on the Riverside Freeway discovered that one of the passengers inside had been shot in the neck.
The victim, Gable Smith, 18, told police that he was shot by someone in a passing car as he walked down a street in Placentia. But investigators said Smith has failed to provide other details about the shooting.
“The victim isn’t being cooperative, neither is one of the witnesses,” Placentia Police Lt. Dave Taylor said. “We are still trying to discuss it with them.”
Fullerton police officers pulled over the victim’s car about 6:42 p.m. near the State College Boulevard exit, Taylor said.
Smith was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange. The injury does not appear to be life threatening, Taylor said.
No arrests have been made.
