The Clippers apparently have no plans to waive center Kevin Duckworth, who was signed to a one-year contract for the NBA minimum salary of $265,000 in October.
NBA teams had until Wednesday to waive players without guaranteed contracts. Players who weren't cut by then must be paid for the entire season. The Clippers had reportedly promised Duckworth when they signed him that they wouldn't cut him.
Duckworth, who was put on the injured list on Dec. 27, has sat out the Clippers' last six games because of a sore left heel.
Center Dwayne Schintzius, who has been out the last two games because of a stomach ailment, practiced Thursday.
"He started to die out there, but we didn't have time for a funeral," Coach Bill Fitch said.
