Scholars Seek Funds for State Decathlon
Simi Valley High School students who plan to compete this spring in the Academic Decathlon State Championships in Pomona are asking for funds to help cover their expenses.
The school recently won the Ventura County championship for the second consecutive year. Last spring, the school finished fifth in the state competition against 43 other county champions.
Administrators anticipate that the trip to Pomona in March will cost well over $4,000 for hotel, food, transportation and study materials and are asking business and community organizations for their financial support.
