Authorities are asking for the public’s help in their investigation of what police said was an attack by Hells Angels motorcyclists at the Ventura Theatre that left at least one security guard injured.

The fight broke out about 11 p.m. Saturday inside the theater at 26 S. Chestnut St. during a performance by Ventura-based band Raging Arb and the Redheads.

According to Ventura Police Lt. Roger Nustad, two security guards were challenged by 10 people wearing Hells Angels jackets while the guards tried to eject a customer who was battering others on the dance floor.

One guard suffered a facial injury, but he left the scene before authorities arrived, police said.

The second guard, 21-year-old Antonio Juarez of Ventura, was found lying on the floor of the theater lobby, bleeding from his face and having difficulty breathing.

Juarez was taken by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center where he was treated for injuries to his head, face and upper body. He was released a short time later.

No arrests were made.
