Landslide Derails Train

SEATTLE —
A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corp. freight train was derailed by a landslide in the Cascade Mountains, but no cargo was spilled and there were no injuries, railroad officials said Monday.
Railroad spokesman Gus Melonas said three locomotives and one container car were knocked off the tracks when rocks, trees and other debris crashed down onto them Sunday near Stevens Pass, about 50 miles northeast of Seattle.
