Victims of 2 Car Crashes Identified

The names of two victims in separate fatal traffic accidents Monday in Ventura County were released Tuesday.
Gary Elijah Gholston, 39, of Las Vegas was killed when he lost control of the car he was driving and struck a telephone pole in El Rio about 3:30 a.m. Monday, said a spokeswoman with the Ventura County coroner’s office.
Beatrice Sanchez, 30, of Los Angeles was killed about 3:15 a.m. Monday after she was thrown from a car that went off Pacific Coast Highway south of Mugu Rock, the spokeswoman said.
The driver of that car, 20-year-old Carlos Munoz of Los Angeles, is in Ventura County Jail awaiting arraignment on drunken-driving charges, authorities said.
