A 36-year-old Oxnard man was in critical condition Thursday after being shot in the hip in front of a local bar, authorities said.

Jeffrey Sawyer was shot about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday after arguing with two men sitting in a car in front of the Camelot Bar and Grill in the 1300 block of Gonzales Road, said a spokesman with the Oxnard Police Department.

Police had no description of the shooters, the spokesman said.

Sawyer was in the Ventura County Medical Center’s critical care unit on Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
