O’Donnell Shows He’s Two-Way Player

One bright spot for the Kings since the All-Star break has been the play of defenseman Sean O’Donnell, who set a single-game personal best with a goal and an assist against San Jose last week.

His offensive skills has earned O’Donnell a more prominent role on the King power play. “O’Donnell has been playing really well,” King Coach Larry Robinson said. “We even thought of moving him up front with so many of our forwards out, but he’s been playing great on defense too.”

Defenseman Aki Berg, who has missed the last two games since suffering a concussion against Calgary, will play tonight at Colorado. . . . After scoring only four goals and 14 points in his first 40 games this season, Kevin Stevens has eight goals and 12 points in his last 15, including his third goal in two games against Dallas this season in the Kings’ 2-1 overtime loss to the Stars on Sunday.
