Palmer Ties Mark, but Trojans Lose

Although University’s Eric Palmer tied a county record by making 11 three-pointers, Aliso Niguel made 18 consecutive free throws in the fourth quarter to preserve an 88-79 Pacific Coach League boys’ basketball victory Wednesday at Aliso Niguel.
El Toro’s Fabrizio Mendiola made 11 three-pointers in a 79-69 loss to Santa Margarita Friday.
Palmer finished with 43 points for the Trojans (16-8, 6-3). Nathan Hair scored 27 points for the Wolverines (16-9, 6-3).
