Irvine Valley College will hold orientation Saturday for students interested in its summer abroad program in Costa Rica.

The program allows students to earn five college units by learning Spanish in a native environment. The program, which runs from June 28 to July 27, is affiliated with the American Institute of Foreign Study.

“When you live in a country and are immersed in the language and the culture, you learn the language much more quickly,” said Beatrice Tseng, a Spanish professor at the college.
