Exhibit Features Local Sports Greats
The Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame will host an exhibit of photographs, plaques and memorabilia Wednesday at Ventura College.
The exhibit, featuring Ventura County athletes such as former Los Angeles Laker Jamaal Wilkes and race car driver Dave Marquez, will be on display during the Ventura College men’s and women’s basketball game against the Santa Barbara Community College teams.
The display, which spans the past 12 years, will be open from 5 to about 9:30 p.m., said Chuck Eskew, chairman of the Hall of Fame.
The Ventura College women’s basketball team is ranked first in the state, with the men’s ranking second. Both teams are the defending state champions, said Eskew.
