U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Tuesday officially endorsed Los Angeles City Atty. James K. Hahn for reelection in the April 8 election.
“For 12 years, Jim Hahn has served the residents of Los Angeles with a singular commitment to making it a safer place for the people who live and work here,” Feinstein said in a written statement, praising the incumbent for his work on domestic violence, gangs and gun control. “I consider Jim to be a friend as well as an important partner in the fight against crime.”
Feinstein had already lent her name as an honorary chairwoman of Hahn fund-raisers. She joins a list of politicians, including nine of the 15 Los Angeles City Council members, who are supporting Hahn during the strongest electoral challenge of his career. Encino lawyer Ted Stein is opposing Hahn.
