Personal style: I don’t wear suits. What I wear depends on my mood, but mostly I love to be comfortable.
Fashion mistake: Once, when I was in Paris, I bought a classy black dress with a very low-cut back. I never did wear it.
Wardrobe essential: I can never have enough black pants.
Fashion philosophy: I think that I’m a fashion minimalist. I don’t wear accessories, and I like things to be precise. Detailing is really important to me.

Personal style: I like things tailored. I generally wear suits. One of my favorites is a white linen pantsuit. I’m British, and it has a colonial British feel.
Fashion weakness: I love good jewelry, but I have such an expensive eye that, unless I can have what I want, I do without.
Fashion mistake: A bright orange silk shirt. Made me feel like a pumpkin. I’ve never worn it.
Wardrobe essential: My grandmother’s platinum and diamond Victorian engagement ring.
Fashion philosophy: I think true fashion is timeless. I never like to follow the colors of the season. As a designer, I studied color and prefer shades like chartreuse and pale blue. And I rarely wear black; I prefer dark colors that suggest black.

Personal style: Classic with a funky twist. I wear jeans a lot. If I’m not around the painters and carpenters, I’ll wear boot-cut slacks or a skirt.
Fashion weakness: I have about 20 TSE cashmere sweaters in baby sizes so they’re snug. Vintage handbags. My favorite is a camel leather faux Hermes Kelly bag.
Fashion mistake: Vinyl pants.
Wardrobe essential: Slipdresses are like wearing a nightgown. Throw on sandals and you can go anywhere. Also, my mom’s vintage silk scarves.
Fashion philosophy: I learned my style from my grandmother, who is very put together, right down to the pen she carries.

Personal style: I’m not a classicist, but I’m not super-hip either. I just like to look unique. I shop three times a year.
Fashion weakness: I love shoes, from leopard to snakeskin to patent-leather. I actually own a pair of orange suede loafers. And 10 pairs of black shoes.
Wardrobe essential: Black Wolford fish-net stockings. They go with everything. And I have a Jack Russell terrier named Elvis, so I carry a de-linter roll with me at all times.
Fashion philosophy: I like tailored clothes, like a nice fitted jacket, at night.
