4th Suspect Arrested in Cosby Extortion Case

The FBI arrested a fourth person Friday in Los Angeles in connection with an alleged plot to extort millions from entertainer Bill Cosby by threatening to publicize a woman’s claim that she is his illegitimate daughter.

In an indictment handed down in New York, Boris Sabas, 42, also known as Boris Shmulevich, was charged with conspiracy and extortion. Sabas is accused of assisting in the alleged scheme by driving the woman, Autumn Jackson, and her accused accomplice, Jose Medina, to the airport for a flight to New York and making arrangements for their return.

Prosecutors say Jackson demanded $40 million from Cosby for agreeing to keep quiet about her paternity claim. The demand was faxed on Jan. 16--the same day Cosby’s son Ennis was killed in Los Angeles. In a subsequent meeting in New York with Cosby’s representatives, Jackson and Medina dropped the demand to $24 million, the indictment states.

Jackson, 22, of Los Angeles, has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail. Medina, 51, of Ohio, also pleaded not guilty but remains in custody.

Cosby has said there is a possibility that he is Jackson’s father because he had an affair with her mother.
