Duck update--They take a four-game unbeaten streak against the Red Wings, but they’ve never won in Detroit. The Ducks--who must play the Red Wings three times in the final 19 games--beat Detroit for the first time in franchise history Nov. 24 at the Pond. Paul Kariya has nine points in the last four games and Teemu Selanne has eight over the same stretch. Goalie Guy Hebert has held opponents to three goals or less six games in a row.

Red Wing update--Their seven-game unbeaten streak is the longest current streak in the league. After beating the Rangers, 3-0, Saturday, the Red Wings are 5-0-2 after since Feb. 16. The shutout was Chris Osgood’s sixth of the season, and lowered the team’s defensive average to 2.32 goals a game. Brendan Shanahan has been on a goal-scoring tear and has 41 this season, third in the NHL.
