Foot Injury Sidelines Bulls’ Kukoc
The Chicago Bulls put Toni Kukoc on the injured list, and his foot problem could hamper him through the rest of the season and the playoffs.
Doctors say Kukoc needs at least two months of rest to clear up tendinitis in his right foot.
“The doctors told me that for it to be totally all right, it will take two or three months of rest,” Kukoc said. “I’ll do that over the summer.”
Kukoc, averaging 13.4 points and 4.5 assists as the Bulls’ sixth man, first suffered the injury last June in the NBA finals against the Seattle SuperSonics. He then played in the Olympics for Croatia last summer, never resting enough to allow the injury to heal.

The Houston Rockets signed 15-year veteran Eddie Johnson for the rest of the season. Johnson, a 6-foot-7 swingman, played for the Indiana Pacers before he was traded Feb. 20 to the Denver Nuggets. He did not play in any games for Denver and was waived.
