Duck update--They can tie the longest unbeaten streak in club history--seven games--with a victory or tie tonight. Perhaps more impressive, they are 9-1-1 in their last 11 games at home, and the only loss was to Stanley Cup champion Colorado on Feb. 2. Teemu Selanne has 86 points and is close to overtaking injured Jaromir Jagr of Pittsburgh for second in the NHL scoring race. Goalie Guy Hebert has stopped 97 of the last 100 shots he’s faced.

Ranger update--This is the second game in two nights for the Rangers, who beat the Kings, 6-2, on Thursday at the Forum. Wayne Gretzky leads the NHL with 63 assists, but he and Mark Messier are only the third highest scoring teammates in the league. Pittsburgh’s Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr have 186 points combined, the Ducks’ Selanne and Paul Kariya have 161 and Gretzky and Messier have 151. The Rangers won the first meeting in the two-game season series, 3-2, Dec. 27 in New York.
