Clipper update--They have lost three in a row by a total of seven points. The Clippers squandered an 11-point third-quarter lead and lost to the Orlando Magic by a point Thursday night, missing two potential game-winning shots in the final 15.9 seconds. Guard Malik Sealy, who missed six of nine shots against the Magic, has shot only 35% in his last five games. Forward Loy Vaught has averaged 21.6 points in his last five games.

Piston update--They opened a five-game trip with a 92-88 win at Minnesota on Wednesday, then lost at Utah, 95-88, on Friday night. The NBA’s second-best defensive team, the Pistons have held 54 of 60 opponents under 100 points. Detroit held 24 consecutive opponents under 100 points from Dec. 15 through Feb. 1, the second longest such streak in NBA history. Grant Hill leads the Pistons in scoring (21.2), rebounding (8.6) and assists (seven).
