Bruin forward Maylana Martin (17.7 points, 6.3 rebounds) was named Pac-10 freshman of the year and also named to the all-conference team. Martin, with 459 points, is third on the all-time Bruin freshman scoring list behind Denise Curry (610 points in 1977-78) and Necie Thompson (514 in 1980-81). UCLA’s Tawana Grimes was honorable mention all-conference, and Carly Funicello and Janae Hubbard were honorable mention all-freshman. This is the season finale for both teams. UCLA won the first matchup, 77-73, on Jan. 2 in Pullman.
